Easingwold Summer of Music Ends on a High ...

Saturday 13th September, 2025

Saturday marked the final performance in this year’s Easingwold Summer of Music. The season long event had the who town enjoying a series of free, open-air concerts held in the heart of the Market Place.

After a summer of fantastic live music and buzzing community spirit, the festival wrapped up with an outstanding performance from the intriguingly named Compassion Fatigue—a new collaboration between Andy (of The Mojos & The Threetles) and Matt (of Jiving Licence).

Despite the name, there was no sign of fatigue from the performers or the crowd—just enthusiastic applause and calls for more.

With their easy-going style, smooth harmonies, and clear musical chemistry, Andy and Matt delivered a truly memorable set.

Joined by Matt’s father on bass, they covered a wide range of classics: from 50s and 60s favourites like Elvis’s His Latest Flame and Beatles hits Norwegian Wood and I Feel Fine, through 70s rock with a particularly good version of Take It Easy (Eagles), to iconic 80s and 90s tracks like Walk of Life (Dire Straits), Sit Down (James), and Yellow (Coldplay).

Their lively chat and humour between songs created a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, perfectly complemented by the warm afternoon sunshine.

The crowd, seated across the square, were clearly enjoying every moment.

To cap off the evening, Matt’s mother—a talented musician herself—joined the band on cajón drum box for a spirited rendition of Johnny B. Goode.

The finale brought the crowd to life and lifted the spirits of everyone in the square—truly a high note to end on!
